Picture this … you’re doing your regular head check on your child and all seems clear until you come across what appears to be a head lice egg.
“But I haven’t found any live head lice”, you tell yourself. So how can you know for sure that it’s an egg and not something else? By the end of this article, we hope to shed some light to help you identify nits sooner and more accurately.
Head lice eggs can be confused with debris, dandruff, or conditions of the scalp. When frantic parents call us asking for our help on identifying eggs we often direct them to our free head lice identifier page. - Lice eggs are brown in color, never white
- They are stuck to one site of the hair shaft on an angle and cannot be moved, flicked or blown off the hair
- They are about 1mm in size, very tiny and will be stuck with cement glue like substance until you remove them.
- The only way to remove them is with a quality lice comb or by using a professional head lice removal service (like ours).
