Treatment Tips & Resources

Say NO to PESTICIDES. In our waters, on our food and especially on our children.

Tips

Get your kids back to
school quickly

At the LiceSquad Inc. we understand that head lice is not your first priority. It is a nuisance that often comes at the most inappropriate time. It causes fear, frustration, and anger, lost days at school and work and mental anguish. Especially for those with bug phobias. Many hard working families do not have the time to nit pick and many parents do not wish to pour potentially dangerous pesticides on their children. That or they have already used these treatments and have found them ineffective. Often mothers contract head lice from their children and have no one to pick the lice and nits from their own hair.

This is why the LiceSquad Inc. was founded. We are dedicated to helping you banish the bugs as quickly and safely as possible. You have better things in life to do than sit for hours picking and combing head lice. A simple trip to the drug store is often not enough these days as super lice have made the standard treatments less effective and costly to continue using. You probably already know this by now and you're probably at your NITS end with combs that pass over nits and tear out the hair. We want to take care of this problem for you and we want to teach you what we know. Let us help you.

Lice Facts

  • Female head lice lay nits (lice eggs)
  • One female louse lays 3 to 5 nits a day on the hair
  • To succeed at eliminating a head lice infestation, one must remove
all nits and lice from the hair
  • Nits are tear-shaped, usually brown in colour, and are attached to only one side of the hair shaft. Nit look-alikes, white in colour, surround the hair shaft and are often misdiagnosed as nits.
  • Most mothers waste both time and energy doing countless washing
    of bedsheets and clothes
  • Instead, vacuum or place items that have been in contact with head lice, in a dryer on high heat for 20-30 minutes or set aside for 24-48 hours
  • Pesticide Sprays & Treatments should be used with caution
  • Instead, learn how to quickly eliminate all nits and lice from the head!
  • We provide a Free Nit Diagnosis Service. Call us for details.

3 EASY STEPS TO CLEANING & ENVIRONMENTAL CARE

Head lice are not living in your home, on your furniture or in your bedding. They prefer to be on your head. The good news is a louse will die within 24 to 48 hours without a blood meal from you.

The only reason a louse may be on your bedding or furniture is because they have fallen off your head or someone else’s head. They are not laying eggs or colonizing in your home or environment. But they are waiting to get back onto a human head for a meal.

Here is all you need to do for your home or environment

#1 Place items that can safely be dried on high heat in a dryer for 20 to 30 minutes.

#2 Vacuum items that cannot be dried

#3 If an item can not be dried or vacuumed. Set it aside for 24 to 48 hours.

That is it! Remember, the focus of head lice elimination should be on the manual removal of all lice and nits from the head. Remember lice are not living in the environment, they are living on your head. Cleaning should be done initially after your first big nitpick and treatments. It can be repeated every 4th to 5th day after follow up nitpicks and treatments. Don’t waste valuable time on cleaning. See our web site for effective treatment and prevention products and tools. www.licesquad.com
