ABOUT IN-HOME SERVICE

When you call, we will take your referral and pass it on to the representative who services your area. You will then get a call back from that person to schedule your appointment time.

Our goal is to see you within a 1 to 3 day window from the time that you  call us for help.  In many cases we do our best to see you the same day or the next day as we know what you are going through and we do our very best to get out to you right away.

In-home head lice removal services $55 per hour,1 hour minimum, billed in 15 minute increments thereafter An average visit is approximately 1 to 3 hours, depending on the length and thickness of hair, the number of people needing treatment and the severity of the infestation. What would take the average person 8 to 10 hours to accomplish, we can do in as little as 1 to 2 hours. (sliding scale does apply for those on assistance, disability or anyone in a low income bracket)

Travel fee is 40 cents per km one way.  (we send a representative that is closest to you to keep this fee as low as possible)

Head Lice Screening services $55 per hour plus the travel fee.  A one hour minimum applies for all visits.

Included in your visit are manual removal of head lice and nits, education and screening of family members. An average visit is 1 to 3 hours, depending on the number of people needing treatment, severity and the length and thickness of hair.

Cancellation Policy: Appointments that are not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance will be subject to a cancellation fee.

SCHOOL, CAMP AND DAYCARE SERVICES

Head Lice Committee Training. This is a 1 to 2 hours hands on training for the purpose of teaching school, camp or daycare head checkers the proper identification skills and method. This eliminates misdiagnosis and creates a profitable way for schools, camps and daycare centers to uphold their No Nit Policies.

The staff providing our head lice committee training and head lice seminars are the same staff that provide our professional head lice removal services. These are the experts in the field of head lice identification, treatments, education and prevention. When you hire The LiceSquad Inc. for your school, camp or daycare you receive the added bonus of having a professional on site to provide consultations to parents who have been told that their child has lice. We also provide on site lice removal services, and can oversee your first school-wide screening to make sure that the head checkers are doing a thorough and accurate inspection. We are there to answer questions and offer support every step of the way.
We are available to provide head lice inspections for your school, camp or daycare. The fee is the same as our hourly rate for head lice removal services.

Head Lice Seminars Everything you ever wanted to know about head lice, from identification and treatment to prevention. This 1 to 2 hour hands-on seminar is beneficial for parents, teachers, child care workers, public health nurses and hospital workers. Learn the newest information on Super Lice, safe treatment options and prevention tips. Real samples of lice, nits, and nit imposters. Requirements are an overhead projector, JVC or DVD player for video and at least two weeks notice of desired booking.

God bless anyone who desires to do this meaningful work. Those that choose to help others with the head lice issue tend to be very good souls with empathetic hearts and most probably have suffered with lice themselves. The idea for this business was not originally mine. I saw others in other countries doing this kind of thing. The idea to franchise however, was indeed born from my desire to make this help available to as many people as possible and since no one else was providing these services here in Canada, I felt called to take it up. Since then it seems that many new services such as LiceSquad's have been springing up. I am flattered to see this business being copied. It just proves that the need and Potential I saw when I started this company is still very viable.

At the same time, I do have some concerns regarding certain issues. The following are things that I think every potential user of this kind of service needs to look for. Each customer needs to do their home work before hiring someone to provide head lice identification, training or removal services. There are risks associated with this work and these should be taken into consideration by those using the services and those wishing to providing it.

1. Police screening on those providing the services.

2. Insurance coverage for the company and those providing services.

3. What kind of qualifications or training does the person providing services have?

4. Is your confidentiality protected if you so desire it to be?

5. Is a strict sanitation policy being followed and what protocols are in place for services.

6. What kinds of products are being recommended? Does the person have full knowledge of the products they are recommending?

7. What kind of information is being provided for follow up care or environmental care?

8. Are those being treated given a pre treatment consultation to rule out any contra-indication for product use or other concerns.

9. Does the person or company have a good standing and reputation in the community?

10. Ask to see testimonials and or professional recommendations/certifications etc.
