Is a pill safe for treating lice?

I recently read this article http://www.abc.net.au/local/stories/2011/06/24/3252657.htm
about using a pill containing Ivermectin to treat children for head lice.  I looked into it and this is what I found.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivermectin

As a parent I am not completely comfortable taking this route.  However panicked I may be about head lice I know there are other solutions available.  Read my free head lice help kit if you want to know about those options.  I won't be selling a pill for head lice unless allot more goes into proving its safe and effective long term.

What a fantastic service, The Lice Squad!

I have personally worked with hair for years but removing lice is really not something to fool around with. What if you miss one egg?

So I  called The Lice Squad … 3 hours later, my family of 5 were given a clean bill of scalps!!!

It’s really that simple!

I always recommend The Lice Squad. They will also come into your school and do checks- how proactive is that?!

Please let me know if this is okay- I’ve never done one before- how are u?

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feed back..  Dawn Mucci

To whom it concern,

Please convey my sincere thanks to Kimberley Cohen, who helped my daughter overcome her anxiety and fears over lice! This is the first time my family and I experienced lice.  From the moment Kimberley returned my call I knew my daughter was in the right hands.  Over the phone Kimberley’s knowledge and ability to answer all my questions reflects the professionalism of your staff and company.

When Kimberley arrived at my home much to her surprise she was greeted by Vaughan Fire and Ambulance.  She quickly called me over the phone to ask if everything was ok and if there was anything she could do to help!!   Lice, Fire Fighters, Ambulance what else could go wrong.  Kimberley patiently waited in her car until my aunt was taken to hospital to be assessed.  I was shaken up and not focused but Kimberley knew what needed to be done.  I was constantly on the phone but my 10 year old daughter was very comfortable and rather knowledgeable on the lice situation that would soon be put behind her. This evening I received a call from Kimberley checking up on my aunts condition.  I was deeply touched by her thoughtfulness!

Kimberley merits the highest commendation on an excellent job done!!

With sincere thanks

Anna
