If you knew there was a safer alternative you would almost always choose it.

This is why it is so important to me that we let parents know about our all-natural non-pesticidal alternative for head lice removal. Smothering with essential oils is as effective as smothering with pesticide - and so much safer.

As the Cancer Awareness Coaltion states:

Interview on Metro Morning

Interview with Dr. Peter Lin. on Metro Morning shares some good head lice information and we get a nice mention however this interview shows that there are still misconceptions around lice and some active misinformation.  He mentions to bag things for two weeks and this is not necessary.  They die within 24 to 48 hours.  He also says they look like dandruff.  Not true.  Dandruff is white and lice eggs are Carmel or brownish and they can be laid anywhere on the hair shaft.  Not just in the first inch.  Get your free head lice help kit on my web site for accurate up to date information or have me on your show to help educate.

Lice Squad Expands Again

Lice Squad Canada announced today the expansion of the business into the greater Calgary, Winnipeg and Kingston areas, servicing families, schools and organizations in most locations via their mobile service team.

“We are the company that gets those desperate calls from mothers in tears and people at their ‘nits end’ with head lice,” says company founder Dawn Mucci, who started franchising Lice Squad’s concept in 2002.  “I have talked to many parents who out of frustration have shaved heads and used ridiculous amounts of pesticide treatments and sprays.  Some have gone as far as having their homes steam cleaned and have actually thrown out perfectly good toys, furniture and bedding because of the lack of education and the fear and stigma associated with head lice.”

The staff is made up of highly skilled lice removal consultants all trained in the Lice Squad’s exclusive head lice removal process.  This includes the exclusive use of the medical device called The Louse Buster™ which uses heated air in combination with enzymes and reduction combing to effectively and quickly clear away head lice and their eggs.   Two Journal of Paediatrics papers on the device have recently been published and both cite the device’s 99.2% kill rate on lice eggs, a key element in eradicating a case.

“Our approach is to provide people with the tools and education to treat head lice right the first time,” explained Dawn Mucci, CEO of Lice Squad.  “This is a fantastic business opportunity that meets an incredible need in the community.”

Head lice are the second most communicable affliction among school-aged children next to the common cold.  This year alone, up to 2.4 million Canadian children and their caregivers may get head lice, making head lice removal a service in demand.  Lice Squad Canada’s mission is to stop the stigma associated with head lice and prevent the over use and abuse of pesticides on children and the planet.
