There is nothing worse than finding a moving creature on your child’s head.  This is what happened this Saturday.  I went to the drugstore and paid $35 for a home treatment kit.  The comb was useless and I could see I was not getting all the nits.  I asked my husband to go on the computer and find some place I could take my daughter to ensure that the lice were eradicated.  (We had seen this on a show called “Dirty Jobs”.)  He found Lice Squad, and although they were closed on the weekends, I sent an email to them.  I received a call within an hour and they set up an appointment for Sunday morning! The woman arrived and set up, she spent a few hours here checking everyone’s heads and then taking care of my daughter’s lice.  If we had not found you, we would have been dealing with this for months.  As a parent, we want to do the best for our children and I could see that I would have failed in treating her lice myself.  What a relief to find your company! I knew a mother was the founder, because only a mother could know how stressful this is and start a company that helps other parents in the same situation.  The peace of mind now is worth the cost ten times over.

A few weeks ago, my 8-year-old daughter got lice from one of her friends, but out of sheer stupidity (head in the sand) and ignorance (she had never had lice before), I did not act on it for 10 days and ended up with a HUGE  nightmare.  

After 5 days of working 5 hours a day with a pathetic nit comb, I surrendered and called your company for help. A really nice lady called Jenny came to our house a couple of days later, and just having someone so calm about lice in the house was a tremendous help to start with. She was professional, fast, effective, and she really made a difference in the lice war! 

Our follow-up care continues, but we are definitely on the way to be nit-free. 

I sent an email to the parents and teachers of the school my daughter attends telling them my story and urging them to be proactive, preventative, and not to act as stupidly as I had. The greatest shame was not about having lice in the house but my reaction to it.

My family resorted to “The Lice Squad” services a couple years ago.  We were so thankful to have found you!   I am now on the “head check” committee at my daughter’s school (and have been since our own episode).   We check every student at the school annually for lice.  We just finished our first “re-check” and I found that a few of the children who originally were found to have nits told me their parents treated them with a shampoo, but had not done any nit picking or head checking other than that.  Needless to say, we found they were still quite infested.   I would like to send home additional information and include your website.  You have a lot of really great information available and I think it would be beneficial to parents to visit your site when they are combating this stubborn bug.

I cannot express to you how amazed, and truly grateful I am that I came across Lice Squad, and how well it worked out for us. We battled with lice for TWO years, and no matter what we tried, NOTHING worked! It got to the point where I nearly shaved mine and my daughters hair when, I came across Lice Squad, and decided, although pessimistic, to give them a call. I had a woman named Kim come to my home last night to check my children and myself. My youngest child was treated and picked. We were very, very pleased with your services. As you can imagine the first time head lice enters your home it is an absolute panic! What made us panic more was that fact that our daughter Emily has the thickest curliest hair ever and there was no way we could do this alone! I called and an appointment was made. The representative was awesome!!!! What patience. We could never have done this.. NEVER! We were all checked and this is what really helped too! We were educated... I think your services are worth every penny! We purchased the comb and did the checks as advised and we got another visit a week later and Emily was louse free! You people must be angels. It is really devastating when you find out that someone or everyone in your family has head lice. There is so much stigma attached to this problem. People actually look at you differently. And try to stay away. How awful is that! My son just went through the whole ordeal, I notified the school and they chose to ignore the problem. Usually they send home a note letting other children and families know. I can tell you that it was so bad last year in my son’s class, they actually had to store their things in their own individual garbage bags daily. I certainly hope you are available when we need you next. If you have ever had lice before in your home, you certainly do not forget what they look like or how they make you feel. I appreciate your time and consideration and truly feel that you people are doing an incredible job.

I also wanted to thank you for your web site. I have down loaded information and will pass it on the the appropriate parties at our school. I am quite upset with the way the school is handling the lice situation for they are allowing kids with nits to attend school, which in my opinion will only recycle the problem. I understand the school board is probably reponsible for this but it is so frustrating. I also found that from our lice experience that our teachers including the principle is very uneducated in regards to lice and only contributed to feelings of humiliation.
