Check-A-Head Program -  $70 Dollars Per Hour Per Consultant

Does your school, daycare or camp have unwanted visitors? What is the head lice policy?  Do you find that children are still returning with head lice?  

Lice Squad Canada offers a Check a Head program where our consultants will professionally check all the children.  Our discreet and non-disruptive methods will ensure minimal interruption and get the job done quickly and quietly.

Here is how it works 

• A letter is provided for you to send home to parents letting them know of a scheduled day for head lice checks. On the letter sent to the parents, may we recommend to ask to send the children back to school with a Toonie. This is a great way to assist in our costs.  For $2.00 is will cover our cost or the majority of our cost.  Some schools will even ask for $3.00 or more and the extra money is placed into a fund for needy families that seem to have recurring head lice infestations.  The school will then ask Lice Squad to treat the whole family and payment is from the fund.
• Parents are assured that their child is being seen by a Lice Squad professional and if diagnosed with head lice, they are given hands on instruction as to what they can do to get their child back to school quickly.  We provide the school with diagnosis letters and parent can access head lice treatment tips or additional help at www.licesquad.com
• Each child is seen by a professionally trained Lice Squad consultant.
• Each child is screened using a fresh lice stick.  We check the three hot spots for lice and/or lice eggs.  Once cleared, the stick is broken and placed in a garbage receptacle. 
• If lice or lice eggs are found, a sample of hair with an egg on it or a louse is removed and taped to a Lice Squad Head Check Verification form that explains our findings.  This form is then confidentially returned to the office at the end of the screening.  
• Upon finding lice activity on a child the Lice Squad consultant discretely leaves the screening area to cleanse their hands with an antiseptic gel and then washes their nails with a scrub brush before returning to screen other students. 
• All Head Check Verification forms are provided to the office and parents are contacted by the office.  A member of the Lice Squad can remain on site and is available to discuss the findings and offer parents tips and advice on the best course of action.  Many parents request to also be screened at that point and we are more than happy to do that for them.

It is not our policy to wear rubber/latex gloves while screening for lice.  We are conscious of possible latex allergies and there is a pulling sensation on the hair that may cause the child discomfort.  By adhering to our strict protocol and sanitation policy as outlined above, the possibility of live lice transfer from a Lice Squad consultant to a student is extremely low.

The fee is $70.00 per hour per consultant plus travel fee of $0.52 per km just the one way. The number of consultants required depends on the number of children to be checked.

 Head Lice Committee Training $240 + HST

 This is a 1 to 2 hours hands on training for the purpose of teaching school, camp or daycare workers to accurate head lice and lice egg identification skills.  Our proven method eliminates misdiagnosis and creates a profitable way for schools, camps and daycare centers to uphold their head lice policies.

The staff providing our head lice committee training and head lice seminars are the same staff that provide our professional head lice removal services. These are the experts in the field of head lice identification, treatments, education and prevention. When you hire Lice Squad Canada Inc. for your school, camp or daycare you receive the added bonus of having a professional on site to provide consultations to parents who have been told that their child has lice. We also provide on site lice removal services, and can oversee your first school-wide screening to make sure that the head checkers are doing a thorough and accurate inspection. We are there to answer questions and offer support every step of the way.
We are available to provide head lice inspections for your school, camp or daycare. The fee is the same as our hourly rate for head lice removal services.

Head Lice Seminars $350 + HST

Everything you ever wanted to know about head lice and more.  We teach you identification, treatment and prevention. This 1 to 2 hour complete seminar is beneficial for parents, teachers, child care workers, public health nurses and hospital workers. Learn the newest information on Super Lice, safe and natural treatment options and prevention tips. Real samples of lice, nits, and nit imposter's are provided. Requirements are an overhead projector, and DVD player.  We require at least two weeks notice of your desired booking time.

We provide the tools of the trade and our expertise to fully train and prepare your team to internally take care of any lice issues that may arise.  This is a very cost effective way to deal with your lice issues internally as over time camps and other organizations may spend many thousands of dollars on lice checks, products and removal services from private companies.
